Steve Miller has built a distinguished career in public affairs, politics, law, and community service. He is currently President of Saber-21, LLC, a communications and business strategy firm, and practices law in his own firm.

From 2014-2016, Steve was Of Counsel in Steptoe & Johnson PLLC’s Louisville office. His legal practice focused on strategic and crisis communications, government relations, and environmental law.

Previously, Steve served for 17 years as President and CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE), a national non-profit association, and its predecessor organizations located in Washington, DC. In 2009, the American Association of Political Consultants recognized ACCCE as the national public issue “Grand Marketer of the Year” for its integrated communications campaign, comprised of paid media, social media, earned media, and a grassroots citizen army.

ACCCE’s mission was promoting the use of coal to provide affordable, reliable electricity and advocating for new, advanced clean coal technologies. During his tenure, Steve built ACCCE from an organization focused solely on state government relations to a greatly expanded scope that also encompassed federal government relations and a national communications campaign.

Steve has played important roles in national, state, and local electoral politics. He served as a leading staff member for Brereton Jones in his winning campaigns for Kentucky Governor and Lieutenant. Governor. He was the Organizational Chairman of the 1992 Clinton for President Campaign in Kentucky and worked for the campaign’s media consultants to develop paid media strategies for more than 30 states in the primary and general elections. That year, he also was a media consultant to West Virginia Governor Gaston Caperton in his successful reelection campaign. In 2022, he played the lead role within Saber-21 to manage Forward Together, the super PAC that supported Craig Greenberg’s winning campaign for Louisville Mayor.

Steve is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the UK School of Law. As an undergraduate, he was initiated into Phi Beta Kappa, as well as Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honorary organization. He has the rare distinction of having played two years on scholarship with the University of Louisville baseball team and holding two degrees from the University of Kentucky.

He is a former President of the Kentucky Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and a former National Vice President of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. Steve is currently Vice-Chair of Teach Kentucky’s Board of Directors.
